Site Inspection
We schedule an in-person appointment on site in order to better evaluate the existing site conditions. A tour of the physical space is mandatory and preferably in person in order to evaluate certain physical criteria. A virtual tour is also welcomed. For sites outside New York or Tirana virtual tours are welcomed.
Client Brief
Is a set of short and easy questions we ask to better understand you and the problem you’re trying to solve. In there you answer, suggest, and share everything you want to address in inside the space of your dreams. It only takes a few minutes to fill the form and it’s fun, light, and very helpful.
Concept
Concept development is the place where initial lighting concepts and inspirations are presented. We collect a set of material boards and case studies to further analyze, conceptually, the lighting hierarchy and atmosphere of the space.
Markup
We review and markup the ceiling plans with our recommended lighting scheme. Every client will be able to visually understand their hierarchical importance and placement and make informed design decisions.
Design
Design development in lighting commonly includes technical information and lighting calculation studies, like fixture spec and illumination calculations. Rendered images, sketches, and images alongside the technical sheets create the foundation of this design phase aiming to introduce an initial understanding of the role of architectural lighting to both clients and professionals, and how it’s unique discipline enhances the architectural experience as it transitions from day to night.

Documentation
Construction Documents are technical sheets that contractors need to specifically know the project in detail in order to produce cost estimates for their services and implement the design intent. It includes final lighting layouts, fixture specs and cut sheets, fixture schedules, supplier, reps, and lead times.
Implementation
Is the final phase offered at Bonsai. Implementation means following the project through its entire construction phase, start to finish. And in the Gold Pro Package™ means measuring and recording lighting data during installation, and site visits and final aiming after installation.
Site Visits
With our experience in working with clients, brands, and creators all over the world we know that every project, site, and city will have its own challenges. No matter the physical location of the space we make sure to plan accordingly with our group of trusted partners in order to deliver our design within the timespan required for its completion.
Photoshoot
After everything’s finished and before we pop our champagne open there’s one more thing we want you to know. For every lovely place we make a photo shooting set it’s included in your Pro Package™, so you can thoughtfully advertise your retail or commercial space in style and elegance. Share beautiful and professional pictures of your newly designed apartment with family and friends, or even make online content and spark engagement with your community wherever they are, all around the world.
